“Earth Day" is celebrated in the school premises on 22nd April 2016. A special assembly was organized in all three blocks namely the Kindergarten, Primary and the senior block respectively. In the Kindergarten students enthusiastically made batches and the teachers themselves recited poems and made the students aware of this day. The students of 3rd std. recited poems in their classes and wrote slogans on that day.
A special assembly was organized where no. of events were organized by all the five houses of the school. Elite personalities of the city Dr. K.K. Nohria ( Vice Chairman of the school) , Dr. Sushil Gupta( Vice Chancellor, Central University ), Dr. Tarun Arora ( Law Department, Central University) spared their valuable time from their busy schedule and attended the program.
Poster making, Essay writing and quiz were held on the day. A short speech was delivered by the Science Department where it was in formed to students that it is celebrated every year on 22nd April worldwide to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Students in the presence of Dr. Tarun Arora took pledge that each one would be planting atleast 10 trees in a year.
The principal of the school Mr. Pramod Khursija congratulated all the winners and also said that one should realize the danger and start taking small steps like planting trees, limiting the use of vehicles switiching off the lights when unnecessary etc. He made all the winners of the competition to plant one tree each.
